PIBO job postings are usually announced between October and December on our website and at Ornithological Jobs Online for positions that start in April. The spring contracts are two or three-month positions, and the fall employment contracts are generally three-and-a-half months.

While the observatory prefers contracting individuals with previous experience to fill the two primary field positions, we also welcome inquiries from anyone with limited birding experience who would like to volunteer at the station for a shorter period. PIBO will cover food and accommodation costs for those able to commit one month or more to the study.
