The Pelee Island Bird Observatory now offers a year-round weekly cottage rental and Steward Program.

In 2009, the Pelee Island Bird Observatory (PIBO) received a generous donation of a lakeside cottage and now makes it available to self-catering groups or individuals. The Bird House is an attractive lakeside house that accommodates up to 6 people. The common room sports an array of windows that offer panoramic views of beautiful Lake Erie. The house has a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, three bedrooms with double beds, and bathroom complete with flush toilet, bathtub, and sink.

This lakeside house can be rented weekly in the peak season (June-August) or as a weekend bird watching package with our Migration Stewardship Program. Revenues will cover the cost of running and improving the site and will also support the Migration Monitoring Program at PIBO.

Please enquire via email ( or phone 519-724- 2829 for the current booking status through Fall 2010 and into 2011!
